new this morning... police investigate after a man is found dead in iowa. someone called fort dodge police about the body over the weekend.. policeare calling the suspicious. the man'' name has not bbn released. police in fort dodge are also looking for a man they say fired shots inside a bar. they say it happened around 2 yesterday morning. police say a panic alarm went off at the bar a ater a fight and jordan foy fired the gun. they consider him armed and dangerous. e person is in jail -- after barrading themsese in a home. cedar rapids police say they responded to the 5-hundred block of 8th street south- west around 3-30 yesterday afternoon. by 7-30 -- the person walked out of the home -- and police were able to take him into custody. police are investigating. five people are dead after a boarded-up home goes up in flames. firefighters say neighbors heard people screaming and pounding on the window for help. they believe the victims were squatting inside the home since it had been vacant for years. five

figure out the cause. one man is shot dead by police -- after walking into a pennsylvania walmart -- and pointing a gun at customers. when officers got there -- they say they told the man to drop his gun -- but he fused. momentt later -- thhman was shot in the chest. police say nobody else was injured -- but some customers said they were concerned about myself. i always ask my husband to go with me because i'm so scared. now there's a shooter, i'll nevee come here with the investigation. the jury will eceive instructions today in the trial of william porter. he's the first of six police officers to be charged in connection with the death of freddie gray. the defense rested its case on friday. andrew spencer tells us closing arguments begin today. prosecutors argue offfer william portrtr ignored gray's life. this is the first time women were allowed to vote and run for office. we have breaking decision 20-16 coverage this morning... a new des moines register and bloomberg politics poll says hillary clinton is building her lead among iowa democrats. 48 percent of likely democratic participants say clinton is their first choice for president. senator bernie sanders has 399 percent support. the poll suggests clinton gaineded the most from vice prrsident joe biden's decision to stay out of the presidential race. on the republican side... ted cruz has jumped ahead of donald trump. the poll released on saturday finds the texas sennor has a ten-point-lead over trump. cruz received 31- percent of likely republican caucus-goers in iowa. trump received 21-percent. the republican presidential candidates will face-off in a a debate hosted by cnn tomorrow night in las vegas. chris christie rejoins the main debate stage after failing to qualify for the fox business debate las month he has since seen a jump in the polls. mike huckabee, rick

today, the president will make a rare visit to the pentagon -- to focus on the war against isis. he'll meet with his top national security advisers. the white house says no major policy shift is expected to come out of it. at least one other event is being planned for this week as the president tries to ease concerns about his strategy. it's been three years now since the massacre at sandy hook elementary. today, will be the first time students in newtown, connecticut will be in school on the anniversary. 26 people were killed -- including 20 children. this morning, uni sttdents are remembering a fellow classmate. according to an email from president bill ruud -- a student died on sunday. president ruud said they don't

death -- but says suicide and foul play e nottsuspected. this is the third student death at uni this semester. the school has counselors available if students need extra support. quite a commotion near a waverly hotel when a fire destroys a semi. it happened on sunday in e super 8 parking lot. no one was hurt. the fire chief says it appears the fire started because of some kind of electrical problem. a tanker truck explodes killing the driver. it happened in portland. the truck, hauling diesel fuel, asphalt... "one tank car was heavily damaged. no product leaked and seven other rail cars were the accident." some homes were evacuated as firefighters worked to put out the fire. it took them about two hours to control it. this morning, parents are demanding answers after their son was killed in a crash

deputy. the crash happened in florida early sunday. troopers say the uber driver went into an intersection at the same time a deputy did. vestigators believe one of thh drivers failed to stop for a red this morning, a unique christmas story out of england: builders found a christmas letter in a chimney -- more than 70 years after it was written. but it didn't stop there. they surprised the person who wrote it with the presents he wanted seven decades ago. the letter was written to santa claus asking for clothes and any toys to spare... so i looked at it. it was quite quite amazing actually." the letter also asked for drum, a box of chalk and slippers. the man was given those gifts along with the letter he wrote when he this morning, thousands of hawkeyes fans are hoping for good news from the university. they

a flash mob turns out to wish an iowa girl well. sarah pieterek from dubuque says she was surprised by a flash mob dancing to kelly clarkson's...."stron ger." it's part of her make-a-wish foundation reveal. she's been fighting leukemia for what got me emotional because she was surprised and music started." as part of sarah's wish... she's going to disney world along with her family for christmas. she says she's doing a lot better now -- compared to the beginning of the year. one lucky basketball fan left the jazz-thunder game about twenty-thousand- dollars richer. the crowd erupted when the fan made a half court shot. it's the first time in two years someone has done that at a people puckered up to set a world record: the most couples kissing under the mistletoe at once. and it looks like they did it too. more than two hundred couples

georgia. they joined hands and kissed for at least ten seconds under the mistletoe. a "star wars" toy made almost 40 years ago sells -- for a price that's out of this world! someone paid 25- thousand dollars for a luke skywalker action figure. it's considered rare -- his lightsaber broke easily, so the toys were pulled from production. it's still in the original packaging -- making it priceless to collectors. neighbors are relieved a raccoon is back on the ground. the critter was first spotted on top of a pole last week in massachusetts. neighbors called the power company, police, and they posted about it on social media. they even placed bails of hay around the pole in case the raccoon fell so it would have a softer landing. power companies carefully coordinated the rescue effort with the animal rescue league. the raccoon was scooped in the
